All new team members start with one week of paid, classroom-style training designed to set you up for success. You'll learn what a 3PL is, how FWF operates, important industry terminology, and go through technology walk-throughs, job shadowing, and AI-powered cold-calling exercises. In week two, you'll transition to the sales role full-time, while continuing to receive ongoing training, coaching, and on-demand resources for months post-onboarding. No prior logistics experience required.

Early on, your day will include a strong focus on cold calling and cold emailing as you build your book of business. You'll also set priorities, review calls, check your CRM, and organize daily tasks. As your book of business grows, your day shifts to a balance between new outreach and customer management. This is an outbound, performance-based role that rewards effort, consistency, and healthy competition.

Sales Reps earn a base salary plus uncapped commission — this is not a 100% commission role. Your base salary increases as you hit defined performance milestones, and commission begins once you start closing and managing business, which is typically within your first 1-2 months. Many Sales Reps achieve a six-figure income within their first 12–18 months, depending on performance.

We look for a healthy mix of humility and confidence, hard work, competitiveness, and the determination to handle an outbound sales role. Coachability, resilience, strong communication skills, and a willingness to be accountable to measurable metrics are all important. Previous logistics experience is not required.

We provide some leads early on to get you started. After that, all new leads are gathered through individual prospecting. In training and beyond, our team is coached on how to find prospects and who to target.

Your first promotion opportunity is to the Sales Lead role, typically between months 6 and 12. From there, continued success advances you to Sales Executive, with a dedicated support team to help you scale. Six-figure income is highly achievable as early as month 12. High performers also qualify for our Remote Path and Entrepreneurial Path, allowing you to work remotely and/or build your own business.

Sales Executives and many support/operations team members receive two work-from-home days per week. High performers may qualify for our Remote Path or Entrepreneurial Path — both fully remote opportunities. All sales team members are required to start in-office at our Grand Rapids, Michigan headquarters. As performance and experience increase, flexibility expands.

Our hiring process typically includes an initial phone screening, in some cases a virtual interview with a hiring leader, and a final conversation focused on culture and performance alignment. We evaluate work ethic, competitiveness, coachability, confidence, and communication skills. The process is designed to move efficiently while ensuring mutual fit. We intend to never ghost a candidate, so plan on hearing from us no matter what. We aim to reply to application submissions within 5 business days, and also aim to give candidates an answer post-interview within 5 business days as well.

Yes. Many of our Sales Reps and Interns join directly out of college or with limited professional experience — though we also hire people with sales experience. A strong work ethic and competitive drive matter more than industry background.

Our team works in-office Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour for lunch. This schedule supports hands-on training, real-time collaboration, and consistent access to managers and teammates throughout the day. If you choose the Remote Path or Entrepreneurial Path, work location and hours will differ.
